Privacy Policy

WireGum keeps privacy practical: collect the data needed to run checkout operations, keep it limited, and be clear about the providers involved.

Controller and processor roles

For workspace account, billing, support, security, and service improvement data, WireGum acts as controller.

For merchant customer, order, shipping, and transactional email data, the merchant is normally the controller and WireGum acts as processor for the workspace.

What we collect

We collect the information needed to run WireGum: account email, workspace settings, product and variant data, order records, customer email, customer name, shipping and billing addresses when Stripe sends them back to us, and shipping or tracking details added by the merchant.

The storefront widget stores cart contents in the visitor's browser. WireGum receives the cart only when checkout is created.

How we use it

We use this data to create Stripe Checkout Sessions, record paid orders, update stock, prepare shipping tasks, send transactional emails, show the merchant dashboard, and troubleshoot the service.

Legal bases

Depending on the context, processing may be needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, protect the service, support legitimate operational interests, or follow a merchant's instructions for their customer data.

Services we rely on

WireGum uses Neon for the database, Netlify for hosting, Cloudflare for DNS and domain services, Stripe for payments, and optional shipping or email providers such as Shippo and Resend when a workspace connects them.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal data. We do not use customer order data for advertising. We do not store card numbers; payment details are handled by Stripe Checkout.

Retention and deletion

We keep account, order, shipping, and email records while the workspace is active or while they are needed for support, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. A merchant can ask us to export or delete workspace data at [email protected].

Rights and requests

Workspace users can ask to access, export, correct, or delete their account data by contacting [email protected]. Store customers should normally contact the merchant they bought from first; WireGum will help merchants respond to valid privacy requests for data processed in their workspace.

International providers and safeguards

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where needed, WireGum relies on provider data processing terms, transfer safeguards, and regional configuration options available from those providers.
